Free Wifi Day

On Sept. 25 5,000 normally fee-based hotspots will be free.
Intel is sponsoring the event which it calls One Unwired day.
Intel provided a hotspot finder here.

I think this could backfire for the pay providers but be a big boost for free Wifi access which I think is going to be the only business model that makes sense in the long run. Intel will win either way so I wonder just what their motivation really is.
