How to spoil a Happy New Year

Kelley has a story about the New Years Party she went to that would have me furious if it weren't so sad that there are people in our own country like this,

As the magical hour approached, we all gathered shivering around the campfire for the traditional toasts. A man behind me called out, "To regime change in Washington!", lifting his Dixie cup of champagne high into the air. "To Osama Bin Laden, may he stay hidden until at least after the election!", called a woman to my left, to merry laughter from all assembled. "I hope Bush dies!" hollered a very drunk man to the right. "To poor Saddam, to the Iraqi people, to the Palestinians!" shouted another woman, further along the line.

I feel sorry that Kelley who had been having a good time was subjected to these assholes but I feel even sorrier that they are americans.
