Alert - New Worm

The is an email making the rounds now that proports to be a security patch from Microsoft and has an attachment that is a .exe file.
This made me suspicious at once since that is not the way Microsoft works.
My friend J. who now works for big M. confirms this.

Yes, DO NOT RUN THE ATTACHMENT. I've gotten them as well. They are not an update from Microsoft, though it does look good. Microsoft DOES NOT distribute updates as attachments to email. Instead, any email messages regarding security updates from Microsoft will direct the user to Microsoft.com
