Sign of the times

I am going for a job interview today to be an asst. manager at a small hotel in the area. They are paying $10 per hour.
That is the bad part.

The good part is that is a lot closer than the 100 miles a day I had to drive to get to my software development job and back.

If you factor in total time (2-3 hr. commute), wear and tear on the car, gas , tolls I was still doing better before but at least here I will be working, if I get it.

My guess is they will look at what I used to make and figure I will jump as soon as the market turns.

Actually I think it would be a nice change of pace. Before I got involved in computers I was in restaurant management and bartending for 7 or 8 years and really liked it. I got out of it after the place I was general manager of on Manhattan's upper east side was sold and I found that I couldn't get another job at the level I had reached.
