Fun with Wine

I found a new wine at the store today. A Merlot called Covey Run which costs less than $10 per bottle. It is a Washington wine and according to the manager it used the original Merlot root stock and not a grafted root like most California Merlots.

While I was at the store I passed a rack of familar French wines. It is a good thing that I have sworn off French wine because at $236 a bottle for Lafitte-Rothschild I couldn't have afforded it anyway. Someday I want to buy a bottle just to see what a two hundred dollar bottle of wine tastes like but unless I hit all the Lotto numbers it won't be anytime soon.

In case you are wondering it was a 1997 vintage.
