Now he is Concerned

I don't know if I should be happy about this or not. It seems that the French are finally concerned. Not because of another attack on jews but because someone who wasn't a jew was attacked because the attackers thought she was.

Police said the attackers erroneously assumed the woman was Jewish because she was living in Paris' posh 16th district.

"Only Jews live in the 16th district," one of the men was quoted as having said.

French President Jacques Chirac expressed his horror and condemned what he called "a shameful attack."

It should be interesting to see if the attackers are caught and if so how long it takes.

Disband the UN

Good speech on the history of the dis-functional UN and their record on Anti-Semitism.
This is an organization that should be disbanded.
John Kerry wants to turn our security over to them.

Israel successfully targeted Hamas terrorist Abdel Aziz Rantissi with no civilian casualties, the secretary-general denounced Israel for an "extrajudicial" killing. But when faced with the 2004 report of the U.N. special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions detailing the murder of more than 3,000 Brazilian civilians shot at close range by police, Mr. Annan chose silence. That's discrimination.

This sucks

I was catching up on my blog reading when I came across this on Merde in France

I fear for jews in Europe. This kind of thing is just beyond the pale. I wonder what would happen if a muslim graveyard had been desecrated instead of a jewish one.

French Disease

This is an interesting article about a jew who moved to France and is now wondering about moving back to the US.
It has a lot about the jewish problem in France and a lot more about the problem that France has with itself.

Hat tip to Dean for pointing it out to me.

Religion of Peace

Follow this link I found at the Mrs to a story in FrontPage on how the publishing of a translation of a book on the Religion of Peace was shut down because of death threats made against everyone involved.
The french, who as we have seen time and time again lack the backbone present in most humans, just rolled over.
It is a chilling story.
The Mrs. thinks that if she had any relatives in France or even Germany she would advise them to leave and she is not even Jewish.
I would love to see Paris at some time in the future but the way things are now I don't think I would feel safe unless I had a bigger handgun then I now own and lots of bullets.

HoloCaust Museum Firebombed

I read this post on Kesher Talk which led me to this post on Lgf.

A Holocaust Museum in Terre Haute Indiana has been firebombed.
Did I say Terre Haute? You bet I did.
That's right folks it can happen right here in the good old USA.

The story is here.

Creeping Anti-Semitism

Meryl was ahead of the curve pointing out how widespread and subtle anti-semitism is not only abroad but in our society.
Now Andrew Sullivan chimes in with two posts.
First from a commentary in Al Jazeerah and then and more chillingly in an email from one of his readers.

And then came the clincher... this educated doctor, a US citizen, told me in all seriousness how there was a detailed Jewish plot that if Al Gore had become president, he would have been assasinated so that Joseph Lieberman could assume the presidency of the United States. Since the Jews knew they would never get a Jewish president elected directly, the Lieberman VP bid was a Jewish conspiracy to gain control of the presidency by underhanded means. I felt sick in the pit of my stomach. What was really worrying was he felt safe to say what he did in a gathering of middle class physicians in a wealthy neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Andrew concludes:

It's real. Nazi ideology is alive and well and in the minds of many even in this country. Now just imagine what they're saying in polite company in Paris.

Wrong Title

Citizen Smash links to this post about the hatred and stupidity of educated muslims and titles it Tread softly.

I think rather it should be titled "Shout it from the rooftops".

If we don't call them on their idiocy it will just continue.

It is a good post, read it. This is how it ends.

It really is us against them. Us and the Israelis and a few others against 1.6 billion zealots.

Get used to the idea.

Update: Read the comments too for more scary stuff.

Easterbrook and Anti-Semitism

The following is a comment I left on Citizen Smash's site in response to a comment by Dean Esmay. I have nothing to add to it at this time.

Dean,
The thing about this is that Meryl didn't call Gregg an anti-semite.
What Gregg wrote was anti-semitic but if you read her post today I think she makes it clear that there are so many ways that people make anti-semitic comments sometimes in a offhand way(that's the really scary part) that we (and I don't mean just jews, everyone) have to take care to not let comments pass without chastising the source of said comments.
Comments that feed the anti-semitic template should be no more tolerated than the use of what we now call the N word.

Meryl on Anti-Semitism

Meryl also has a good post about Anti-Semitism and she is right on as she usually is.

The casual Anti-Semitism is all around even in this country just as she says.
I have seen it and experienced it.
