Vacation Roundup 2

On sunday we got on the Subway and went to see a play. Couldn't get tickets to our first choise or second but when we got to the 45 St. half price spot I notices that a revival of Fiddler on the Roof was player with Harvey Fierstein in the lead role. Interesting casting but he pulled it off well. It also compliemented our visit of the day before to Ellis Island nicely.

After this and lunch my Mom went home while my sister and I took the kid to see Howl's Moving Castle. (Caution the web site has loud music)

The kid who was not happy with Saturday's schedule was mush more pleased with today's. We even managed to let her browse through the big Toy's R Us on Times Square.

By the way there is still free (unless you donate) entertainment available on the subways. I don't know if the is a post Rudy development or not and as long as they still civil I have no problem with it.

Monday I grabbed the kid early and we went to my old favorite, the Hayden Planetarium. They have recently redone the entire thing and while it is all new and shiny there are parts of the old one I liked and missed.

After the show we dropped the kid off at Mom's and went to see the Yankess lose a game to Tampa Bay,, no comment.

And that was it in and out. I believe I understand the old phrase that New York is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Having lived there for most of my life I don't ever want to again.
