EPA Supresses Anti-climate change opinion

We are in the very best of hands as Glenn would say.
If you doubt it read this:

Carlin's report listed a number of recent developments he said the EPA did not consider, including that global temperatures have declined for 11 years; that new research predicts Atlantic hurricanes will be unaffected; that there's "little evidence" that Greenland is shedding ice at expected levels; and that solar radiation has the largest single effect on the earth's temperature.

and this

The revelations could prove embarrassing to Jackson, the EPA administrator, who said in January: "I will ensure the EPA's efforts to address the environmental crises of today are rooted in three fundamental values: science-based policies and programs, adherence to the rule of law, and overwhelming transparency." Similarly, President Barack Obama claimed that "the days of science taking a back seat to ideology are over... To undermine scientific integrity is to undermine our democracy. It is contrary to our way of life."

"All this talk from the president and (EPA administrator) Lisa Jackson about integrity, transparency, and increased EPA protection for whistleblowers--you've got a bouquet of ironies here," said Kazman, the CEI attorney.

I love Amazon But....

I really do love Amazon but this is wrong.

Further to my post below about Amazon's "Twelve Days Of Holiday" promotion, a reader complained to them about their decision not to use the word "Christmas" and received by way of response a canned e-mail apologizing instead for their use of the word "Christmas":

See link below for the response.
My head is going to explode if we don't do something about this PC crap.

I wonder if it might be time for Amazon to crank up a computer-generated apology sincerely apologizing if you were offended by receiving the incorrect sincere apology.

Pardons for Turkeys

I think this entire practice is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard of.

One of the few reasons I could ever think about being President would be to not pardon the Dumb Turkey.

I will have to research this dumb practice and report back on how and why it started but I could not wait any longer.

Is Nothing Sacred

The Boy Scouts have been having problems for several years due to their policy concerning gays but I had no idea how bad things were until I read this article.

When I read the headline on Drudge about scouts inflating membership numbers I wa agast. Why it earth would they do that? The reason of course is money.

The Greater Alabama Council has a strong reputation nationally. In 2002, it received an award for a program that used fishing to bring in new members. The council claimed 10,000 new Scouts that year, and tax forms show it had revenue of $6.5 million, including $100,709 in government grants. In a United Way funding application, the group said it served almost 120,000 youths and adults in 2003.

I was a scout for many years. I was also a scoutmaster for a while and I hope they clean this up because scouting has been to good for too many kids to allow some greedy slobs to ruin it. Especially now when it is under attack they need to clean up their act.

Johnny Carson RIP

The king of late night TV has died today.

He really was the king of what he did and launched so many careers that I couldn't even begin to list them.

I had the honor of going to a taping once, I think it was back in the 70's while he was still in NYC.
The main guest was Lesley Gore. Maybe that was the 60's.

He was as better in person than on TV. He continues to live on video tape and if you are too young to remember him get one of those tapes to see a real master at work.
